Missed Backups error from Bytevault


Instructions to fix this backup issue is given below.

1. Check & confirm that the server or PC is not in hibernation mode when the backup is scheduled to run.

2. Missed backups issue can often be fixed by restarting the online backup scheduler as given below.

Please follow the steps given below to restart the backup software and scheduler:

* Close down Bytevault software and, if necessary, any running backup task.
* Go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
* Stop the service ‘Online Backup Scheduler’
* Open Windows Task Manager
* Shut down any OBM related processes still running (OBJW, AUAOBM AUAOBMJW, scheduler.exe and SchedulerOBM.exe)
* Go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
* Start the service ‘Online Backup Scheduler’

3. Multiple users in home.txt file of the server or PC being backed up can cause this issue. Backups started by different users will cause failure of the scheduled backup.

To fix this issue, go to the "program files\OBM" folder and open home.txt using notepad. Make sure that only one user (Eg: administrator) is specified. Save home.txt file and restart the online backup service as explained above.

4. Make sure that the server or PC being backed up has enough free disk space in all hard disk partitions.
