How do I enable/monitor the cPanel services through WHM?


To enable/monitor any services , you can use the feature 'Service Manager' in WHM.

By configuring the monitoring tool for a particular service, then when any service like Apache, MySQL, or FTP server become unresponsive, it will automatically restart the service. So, the down time will be minimal.Thereby, the tool functions as a protection against unexpected service crashes.

To enable/monitor services from WHM, follow the below steps:

1) Select 'Service Manager' under 'Service Configuration' in the left menu pane of WHM.
2) Check the boxes corresponding to the desired services to enable/monitor the services.

 


3) Click 'Save'.

Note : For monitoring tool to function for any particular service, make sure that 'ChkServd' driver is enabled on the server. To enable this, follow the below steps:

1) Select 'Service Manager' under 'Service Configuration' in the left menu pane of WHM.
2) Check the box corresponding to 'ChkServd'.

 


 

3) Click 'Save'


To report any service crashes via email or SMS notification, follow the below steps:

1) Select 'Contact Manager' under 'Server Contacts' in the left menu pane of WHM.
2) Set the alert contact priority.





3) Fill the details in 'Change Alert Destinations'.

 


4) Select the priority of the alert type 'Service failures'
